Sweet music with a bittersweet message
This song is a real piece of art music, where the singer gets to strut her stuff and the accompanist must follow. Forget the metronome. What makes it bittersweet is the way we human's are described as both ignorant and evil. Our eyes were blind, we could not see. A lot of singers opt to change the patronizing verb, you wuz, to you were. I really appreciate being able to transpose the score to a suitable key!

A Sweet Christmas Gift to singers
I've known this lovely song since I was a teenaged church musician. My Aunt Betty had a rich contralto voice, and, though from a wealthy Methodist family, she could put that message across with mainline white American soul. It's a simple song, though it should be performed by someone with a strong range and power to communicate as well as hit the right notes. As a pianist who balances many books and pieces of music for services, I was especialy pleased with the quality of the music paper. It is a quiet Christmas classic.

Sweet Little Jesus Child
I heard it for the first time today, sung by a Bass Baritone at Christmas services. It moved me to tears as it did the woman next to me and Father Byrne. I went back to the choir room after services to express my thanks to Mr Ritter & tell him how moved I was by the way he sang it. He was very pleased someone took the trouble to convey this message. Such a beautiful anthem.Our church is All Saints' Episcopal in Bayside, NY
