Das thematische Material basiert durchgehend auf melodischen und rhythmischen Merkmalen östlichen Ursprungs. Die dreistimmige Saxophonbesetzung wird vom Rest des Blasorchesters stilvoll begleitet; so kommt die östliche Atmosphäre in Saxoriëntale auf wirkungsvolle Art und Weise zur Geltung.
