For more than a hundred years, the matreshka dolls have been a traditional trademark of Russia. The story behind these dolls is that many years ago, a little Russian girl, Olga, got lost in a forest. When her older sister finally found her, she said, ?Let me hold you.? Next, their mother also arrived, and said, ?Let me hold you both.? Subsequently, the grandmother joined them, and said, ?Let me hold you all.? As a result of this story, these popular ?nesting dolls? came into being. The work Matreshka consists of originally-composed themes. The first theme, reminiscent of a Russian hymn, is followed by another theme in a typically Russian style. A slow passage forms thetransition to the final, energetic movement ? this Russian troika in two-four time starts slowly and ends very exuberantly. A great piece of Russian exuberance that will delight any audience.

De bekende in elkaar passende matreshka-poppen (ook wel matrjosjka genoemd) vormen al ruim honderd jaar een traditioneel handelsmerk van Rusland. Een poppengroep kan bestaan uit drie tot maar liefst vijftig items. Het werk Matreshkabestaat uit origineel gecomponeerde thema’s. Het eerste thema, dat doet denken aan de Russische hymne, wordt gevolgd door een ander thema in een typisch Russische stijl. Een langzame passage vormt de overgang naar het laatste,energieke deel - deze Russische trojka in tweekwartsmaat begint langzaam en eindigt zeer uitbundig.

Seit mehr als hundert Jahren gibt es Matroschka-Puppen in Russland, heute sind die Schachtelpuppen beliebte Sammlerstücke und werden auf vielerlei Weisen verziert. Matreshka nannte Johann Nijs daher seine Komposition im russischen Stil, die aber nur aus originalen Themen besteht. Das erste, das an eine russische Hymne erinnert, wird von einem weiteren Thema im typisch russischen Stil abgelöst. Eine langsame Passage bildet den Übergang zum letzten, energiereichen Satz: So beginnt diese russische Troika im Zweivierteltakt langsam und endet überschwänglich.

Depuis plus de cent ans, la célèbre poupée gigogne dite « poupée matriochka » est l’objet traditionnel représentatif de la Russie. Véritable objet de collection décoré de multiples façons (scènes de contes de fée russes, églises, paysages, hommes politiques et animaux), les matriochkas comprennent de 3 50 figurines. Matreshka développe un ensemble de thèmes originaux. Le premier thème nous rappelle un hymne russe ; il est suivi d’un autre tout fait caractéristique du style de la musique russe. Un passage lent mène au mouvement vif final : cette tro ka russe en 2/4 commence lentement et termine sur un ton joyeux.

Da oltre cento anni, la celebre bambola sovrapponibile detta “matriochka”, è l’oggetto tradizionale rappresentativo della Russia. Vero souvenir, decorato nel modo più svariato, la matriochka può contenere da 3 a 50 “matriochke” di dimensioni diverse. Matreshka sviluppa un insieme di temi originali. Il primo tema ricorda un inno russo; esso è seguito da un altro tema caratteristico dello stile della musica russa. Un passaggio lento conduce al movimento finale: questa troika russa in 2/4 inizia lentamente e termina su un tono gioioso.
