Prelude in E-flat minor, Op. 20 was composed as a stand-alone piece for solo piano and revolves around one central theme. It is also the slowest piece I have composed so far with a tempo of eight note = 50, or 25 bpm to the quarter note. Utilizing binary form, both phrases are symmetrical and a variety of colors are explored throughout this brief piece.
