"The Cares of a Family Man" ("Die Sorge des Hausvaters") is a short story by Franz Kafka, written in the early 20th century, about a "creature" that the family man sees in his house, which he calls Odradek. This "creature" has drawn the attention of many philosophers and literary critics, who have all attempted to interpret its meaning. This work represents some of the descriptions, qualities and aspects of Odradek: The star Broken-off bits of thread, tangled and in many colours The crossbar that sticks out of the middle of the star (inspired by the Coventry Carol) Standing on two points of the star Will he one day tumble down the stairs before the feet of my children and my children's children? Appearances, disappearances, re-appearances Performed by Ölveti Mátyás of Budapest Scoring Cellos.
