Brass Quintet trumpet 1-2 / horn / trombone / tuba (2 Bb Trumpets, F Horn, Trombone, Tuba) - Level 5

SKU: BZ.ENMS-84037

Composed by Itaru Sakai. Chamber Music. Ensemble. Score & parts. Duration 4:30. Bravo Music #ENMS-84037. Published by Bravo Music (BZ.ENMS-84037).

This work was motivated by a wonderful performance I heard on NHK-FM in 1986 by the Ueno no Mori Brass Ensemble.
Eiko Orita's work Brass Quintet was being performed. I heard the full potential of brass instruments that I had not realized. The same composer influenced me with her witty and fun arrangement of When the Saints Go Marching In. Additionally one feels the influence of the familiar full band work at the time of composition.
There were no school students available during composition who could play this work. It was premiered by young graduates from Osaka College of Music on August 27, 2000, 14 years after its creation.
It's a technically advanced piece, but I hope you'll enjoy playing it.
(Itaru Sakai).
