Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download
SKU: A0.1279558
Composed by Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Simon Gilliver. 19th Century. 24 pages. Simon Gilliver #871025. Published by Simon Gilliver (A0.1279558).
This is an arrangement of the fifth movement of Brahms's German Requiem, originally for full choir, orchestra and soprano soloist. The ethereal nature of this movement, skewed towards the upper registers, enables it to be arranged for flute choir. The soprano solo line is all within the Flute 1 part. The challenge for the ensemble is to ensure the soprano solo line in the Flute 1 part is clearly enough heard throughout, while the beautiful weaving lines of the other parts are still enjoyed. All seven parts are for C flutes; alto and bass flute are not needed, however, there are some important low Bs in the flute 7 part. Approximate difficulty level grades 5-6.
