This piano work was brought to the attention of the general public by the jazz rock group "Blood Sweat and Tears," in the early 1970's. It's simple melody is supported by an even more simple background providing some easy listening for your audiences. This work will acquaint your students with music from the Impressionist Period and the teacher should select some traditional paintings to help set the correct mood for this type of work. Also, there should be lots of opportunities for the director to instruct the students into performing a work that requires a great deal of rubato shadings. All string parts remain in first position and a Violin III substitute for Viola part is included.
