Driven for guitar came about when me and guitar virtuoso Otto Tolonen happened to meet at a bar in
Helsinki a few years back. After a few dozen drinks we started discussing metal music. Otto, knowing my
background as a metal guitarist, came up with the idea to write something for him using metal music
aesthetics as a basis for a piece. I got really hooked on the idea of incorporating heavy riffs in the style of all
those bands' music that I grew up with.
Enter Driven. A work that stacks riffs upon riffs upon riffs - hopefully in a convincing metalish kind of way
not forgetting the aesthetics of the contemporary classical masters.
