THE GOLDEN YEAR
"As this chapter of my life comes to a close, I leave behind me a vision; a dream of students living in the moment and making the best out of their high school experience, an image of the vibrant purple and gold bolstered by the classes below, a mark that will live on throughout the generations to come, and the orange skies that will always remind me of where I spent my happiest years."
Chris Paul, a Jersey Village High School graduate(Class of 2017), wrote this ritualistic hymn during the second semester of his senior year. As graduation drew nigh, he reminisced about the time spent at his beloved Alma Mater, and dedicated ‘Departure’s Hymn’ to his classmates. Traditionally, the hymn is sung by the entire group/organization, while holding hands, in commemoration of those who are about to depart unto new endeavors.
