My favorite concerto!
This is so far my favorite piece composed for the clarinet. It has everything that a player would want: expressiveness, technique, and fun. The first movement is at a slow tempo but requires a lot of concentration and control due to the dramatic leaps. Then the cadenza gains momentum and requires nimble fingers, and throughout the rest of the piece there are different plays on rhythm and key signatures and note registers. There are also fun moments in the piece that suggest humor or jazz. This is a very good edition to purchase. It's what my clarinet professor suggests.
