Climb Ev'ry Mountain, from the stage musical The Sound of Music, is a favorite repertoire standard. Unlike many arrangements of this piece which go for bombast and rampant chords, I pare it down to a simple 2 part writing which allows this beautiful melody to soar with some gentle reharmonizations to freshen it. I keep it gentle and quiet with the interest being in the subtle expressive interplay of the two parts. The LH has a walking bass line accompaniment initially, then takes over the melody while the RH has a running flourish. A guaranteed crowd pleaser at any performance.
