Anancy was made popular in Jamaica and beyond by the Rt Hon Dr Louise Bennett Coverley or Miss Lou as she was fondly called. Children especially love to shout and then sing the chorus whilst dancing.
The illustration by Ruth Fraser brings Anancy to life yet again in 2023. I found this song in the 1st edition of the Caribbean song book Mango Spice and learnt this song in the early 2000's. I bought the 2nd edition which had the cd in it which was very inspiring.
