A spares and pensive opening theme with unique harmonic development morphs into a B section built around a rhythmic and propulsive vamp and pedal tone, widening into a sweet and poignant third section that ultimately returns us to a satisfying culmination of the original theme. Note: Both the B and the C section can be opened up for extended improvisation per the interpreter of this piece, or played exactly as written. Thus this composition falls into a neo-classical meets jazz crossover space where interpretation is open to the player and their comfort level in extending certain sections.
