Alfred's Basic Prep Course, Levels A through F, was written to answer a demand for a course of piano study designed especially for students who are five years old and up. This course offers a careful introduction of fundamentals, music that fits comfortably under the young student's normal hand span, plus constant reinforcement--all leading to results beyond those generated by other piano methods. After Lesson Book B, the student may progress to Prep Course, Lesson Book C or choose to go directly into the faster paced Level 1B of Alfred's Basic Piano Library. Great product for young beginners!
I love this series for younger 5-7 yr old beginners! The color pages are clean and easy to read and use shorter songs overall to appeal to younger students.

Alfreds Prep Course Level B
I enjoy using the Alfred's Prep Course. With Level B, I appreciate the way intervals are introduced one at a time and get lessons to learn the new skills. I do wish when the new G Position is introduced, they would go a little slower with the new notes. Many of my students struggle at that point in the book because of how fast it moves.

Great Series of Books
I have been using these books for several years now. I use them on my students age 4 through 11. This series is a little bit slower than the regular Basic Piano Library Series and I like the fact that depending upon how well the student is doing, I can switch to the faster Basic Piano series or the slower Prep series. Since both series work together (i.e. parallel each other) I can move them between the two series based on their progress. The Theory, Notespeller & Technic books are comprehensive and the Activity book is absolutely LOVED by all of my younger students! This is by far the best series I have ever used!
