E.Kayser combined in one volume.This revision of the Studies by Kayser will help beginners get used to adopting rational fingerings right from the start.However complicated they may seem at first sight, rational fi ngerings actually provide more reliable solutions, even to the minor technical problems encountered in these elementary studies. Some passages use the second position (sometimes to avoidunnecessary extensions) on the assumption that anyone using these studies will already have begun to practise the positions.The fi ngerings placed in brackets are either more demanding or given as an alternative; the teacher will be able to guide thestudent as to which option to choose. Finally, I have prefaced almost all the studies with preparatory exercises and variants (from the preface by Renato Zanettovich).

Einige Passagen verwenden die zweite Lage (zuweilenzur Vermeidung unnotiger Streckungen) und setzen damit Grundkenntnisse im Lagenspiel voraus. Die in Klammern angegebenen Fingersatze sind entweder etwas anspruchsvoller oder bieten eine Alternative; hier konnen Lehrer oder Lehrerinnen ihren Schulernbei der Wahl der richtigen Option helfen. Daruber hinaus habe ich alle Etuden mit vorbereitenden Ubungen und Varianten versehen.

Lo scopo di questa revisione degli Studi di Kayser e quello di abituare gli allievi principianti a diteggiature razionali che, per quanto possano sembrare complicate a prima vista, risolvono con maggiore sicurezza anche piccoli problemitecnici come quelli di questi studi elementari. Alcuni passaggi sono stati diteggiati in seconda posizione (talvolta per evitare delle inutili estensioni) ritenendo che l'allievo che affronta questi studi abbia gia incominciato lo studio delleposizioni. Le diteggiature tra parentesi o comportano maggiori difficolta o indicano un'altra possibilita di diteggiatura; sara l'insegnante stesso a indirizzare l'allievo nella scelta. A quasi tutti gli studi sono stati anteposti esercizipreparatori e varianti.
