Starting with a piano arpeggio pattern, this symphonic-styled tone-poem features a series of unison lines from each section that builds from simple to dramatic. A middle section has a calypso mood which leads to solos and a recap of the dramatic build. Solos: piano, trumpet (chords for trb/tenor) 4 sets of WW parts: 1. Mixed WWs (2 fls, oboe, clar, bsn)/saxes; 2. All saxes; 3. 4 flutes/saxes, b. clar or bari; 4. 5 Saxes + 2 flutes. optional parts for French horns, tuba, Latin and mallet percussion.
