Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) completed Octet (Octuor) in 1923 for an unusual combination of instruments. Comprised of three movements: I. Sinfonia, II. Tema con variazioni, III. Finale, Stravinsky exhibits his neoclassical style. Octet premiered at the Paris Opera House on October 18, 1923 conducted by the composer.
