Description: "Emerging" is an early intermediate piano piece that explores the use of intervals within an octave: small and large, diatonic and non-diatonic, and the melody formed when they work together. The melody is based on a 3-note (2-pitch) motif that grows and shrinks with each interval, meandering between tonal and chromatic areas. It creates an interesting vibe and soundscape. The accompaniment includes several arpeggio patterns suitable for early intermediate pianists. "Emerging" teaches technique that is required to express the artistry of the music. It can be an etude and an excellent choice for concert repertoire.
