Driftin' is an easy listening composition and us an easy to intermediate level song. The left hand is doing most of the work here and the player should keep the flowing quality constant. The player will notice that the right hand will bedoing up some detached octaves on occasion with a touch of damper pedal. As one moves further into the song there will be the right hand working in some fifths intertwined with a simple flowing melody afterwards. Imagine yourself just "driftin", on a cloud, in the sky, on a spaceship in the universe going nowhere in particular, or perhaps somewhere on the serene waters in a boat on a lazy warm summer day with not a care in the world. This melody is dreamy and flowing. Enjoy.
