As a composer, Breczinski has written a number of works that have been performed by such ensembles as WiZARDS! A Double Reed Consort, the Encore Wind Ensemble, and the Sorcerers Double Reed Quartet, at such venues as the International Double Reed Society Conference and the University oflowa's OctOBOEfest. Breczinski composed Desiderium and Dementia on a commission from the Midwest Double Reed Society as part of that organization's 25th Anniversary commissioning project. The first performance of Desiderium and Dementia was given by oboist Andrew Brown, bassoonist Rodney Ackmann, and pianist Ellen Bottorff on a program of commissioned works at the University of Kansas on 5 October 2008.
