This arrangement uses the harmonies of Gabriel Fauré, (French composer, organist, pianist and teacher) that he penned for his arrangement for voice and organ dated 23 December 1888. This arrangement is for 4-part SATB ensemble and keyboard (piano or organ) accompaniment or could be performed a cappella. It uses both the original French text and the traditional English lyrics.
