After performing the work several times, I thought the piece would provide an interesting and meaningful arrangement for solo violin and string orchestra. It is a beautiful and expressive work for all members of the ensemble providing interesting music for all players. It is a rewarding work for both the developing and advanced player.
Happy memories can often be tinged with a little sadness in the knowing that those moments are gone. Perhaps in this moment, one can be thought of as "wistfallen."
