Wind Tunnel (Opus 9) was completed during the summer of 2009 and is respectfully dedicated to Kiara (Jung-In) Hwang. Much of the inspiration for Wind Tunnel came from Gyorgy Ligeti's virtuosic Etudes for Piano. Since I began composing in 1999, I have thought about writing a piece for solo flute - I simply love the instrument. For some reason, I have waited nearly ten years to realize the project and I am delighted to have involved Kiara. - Peter Jarvis.
