Steve Van Wye transforms the familiar children's hymn "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" in this charming piece for unison choir with descant. The newly crafted verse texts allow the young singers to express God's action in their lives with these simple yet compelling words. There is an additional verse for dismissal to a Children's Liturgy of the Word. The refrain retains the original words, "Yes, Jesus loves me." The piano part employs simple ascending arpeggios adding a sense of delight. The descant has its own melodic integrity and charm. This piece could be sung by mixed ages, with the youngest joining in just the refrain and a few of the older singers learning the descant.
