The Belgradian composer Ljubica Maric is considered to be the great old lady of Yugoslavian music. A piano trio of the 87-years-old composer was commisioned by Kolnmusik and premiered in the Philharmonie of Cologne. It is a one movement work showing great density of sound and structure. Strikingly wide extending and high towering gestures at times cumulate resp.collapse into single tones as if grasping for the uniting sound. (Kolner Stadtanzeiger, 1996)
