If no typewriter is available replace it with a wood block, reception bell with a triangle or chime. Typewriter performer should act funny, imitate old school bureaucrat. Original tempo is 160BPM, but slower tempo is also acceptable at school and amateur concertos. Adapt tempo to technical ability of xylophone player and mechanics of typewriter (keys jamming problem).
