Soprano and Alto start the arrangement with the original two part harmonies, and are then joined by the men in verses 2 and 3. The men then take the melody in verse 4 with the ladies offering a counterpoint melody. All parts are joined again in the final rousing verse before dying away to an inevitably quiet conclusion.
