String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.895604

Composed by Howard Leslie Shore, Howard Shore, Philippa Boyens, and Philippa Jane Boyens. Arranged by Kyle VanArsdalen. Contemporary. Score and parts. 13 pages. Kyle VanArsdalen Music #6425327. Published by Kyle VanArsdalen Music (A0.895604).

This arrangement of Concerning Hobbits is for String Quartet, and it's fun for student, amateur, and professional groups alike. It gives all the sections something interesting, not just the 1st violin. It has the quartet go back and forth between arco and pizzicato, and it even has includes some easy false harmonics (Depending on the level of the quartet, I also rewrote the harmonics as real notes in the score in small print, in the event the harmonics are too difficult for the 1st violinist). It also gives student groups a good opportunity to work on ensemble playing and blending the quartet's tone to sound like one unit, instead of several individuals.

This download includes the full score and all the parts.
