Themusical style is ‘New-Age’ with a hypnotic, peaceful mood, composed in Aeolianmode. In making this arrangement for guitar quartet, my primary concern hasbeen to create a score which retains the sonority and effortlessness of theoriginal and to make an arrangementwhich is comfortable to play for guitarists.
Eachplayer has melodic interest and the ensemble skills required to manage thesubtle changes of tempi should make an interesting challenge for intermediateensembles.
Giventhe popularity of The River Flows in You, the arrangement makes a good concertpiece (perhaps an encore) for a professional ensemble.
