Composed by Stephanie K. Andrews. Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Stephanie K Andrews #3680001. Published by Stephanie K Andrews (A0.990676).

I was inspired to write "The Peace Prayer" as this particular prayer has proven to be an uplifting source of strength, encouragement, and renewal throughout my life, especially in times of adversity. As there is no repetition in the words of the prayer, the piece is through-composed with a significant amount of text painting for textual emphasis: for example, the gradual building of the D major chord of the word "light" to paint a transformation as light dispels darkness. In the final measures, the "Amen" progresses from B-flat major to C major to D major, portraying hope, joy, and peace as the soul is uplifted and enlightened by the power and majesty of this incredibly inspiring prayer.
