To begin, the traditional Irish melody, ST. COLUMBA, along with a gentle water motif depicts the quiet, green pastures and still waters where the Good Shepherd leads His sheep. But rather suddenly, the piece takes a foreboding sound. Wilson's tune, MARTYRDOM (played here in a minor key), vividly portrays the dark valley of the shadow of death. For the third verse, the arrangement returns to a distinctly Celtic sound, as BROTHER JAMES' AIR depicts an overflowing cup. A piercing Irish whistle echoes & embellishes the melody from a distant hill. To finish, the familiar CRIMOND melody brings the piece to a place of peace and finality as we gather in the house of the Lord forever.
