Composed by Nino Rota. Arranged by Matthew Naughtin. Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Matthew Naughtin #5217739. Published by Matthew Naughtin (A0.852937).

Nino Rota's iconic score for The Godfather almost won an Academy Award. However, the nomination was withdrawn after the Academy discovered that the "Love Theme" was a rewritten version of Rota's music from the 1958 film Fortunella. Nonetheless, the melancholy waltz tune went on to become a hit song, "Speak Softly Love" with lyrics by Larry Kusik. This lush, romantic arrangement for string orchestra captures the wistful flavor of Rota's beautiful theme. The file contains the full score and all five parts.
