Taiping Suite was commissioned in 2014 by the Royal Portsmouth Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines and first performed in Portsmouth on 19th November 2015. It comprises 4 movements, each depicting a scene from the beautiful town of Taiping in Perak, Malaysia. Firstly the bustle of the Old Market. Next comes the din and excitement of a typical Malay Coffee Shop followed by the peace and tranquility of the Lake Gardens. Finally in a triumphant flourish we witness the magnificence of Maxwell Hill which towers over Taiping. The complete recording of the premier can be heard and seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGnwdLE4rAg
