As a budding piano student at Juilliard, I was fired with the ambition to become a dazzling virtuoso, and this Sonata reflects that.
Heavily influenced by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Debussy, Ginastera and Keith Jarret, this Sonata glows with the idealism and the passion of youth, the optimism and the boundless hope of man before middle age.
This is a highly rewarding piece for both the pianist and the audience.
