This is an early work by one of our leading modernists. Martino was 20 and very much under the spell of Bela Bartok. This work was much performed in the 1950s. Until its recent recording by Rolf Schulte and Eliza Garth on Centaur CRC2321 it has been neatly tucked away. Presented in Composer's Manuscript Edition. (1952, 17 minutes).
