The main feature of the composition is that it is written in call and response form. In this case, each of the "call" sections is eight measures long. This is designed to give the individual students enough rest to make it through the entire piece. Which is significant because it is pretty long for students of this skill level.
Something Better is from Eddie Lewis' beginner trumpet ensemble series. We are focusing mostly on beginner trumpet trios for now, but eventually there will be duets, trios and trumpet quartets in this series. The idea behind the series is to give early students opportunities to perform without being forced to play material from their beginning band method. These are genuine music compositions. The students enjoy being able to perform so soon in their development and the audiences enjoy the music
