The recordings on this release were made on October 16, 2015 in Warsaw, and are a great all-around representation of the Schlippenbach Trio as they stand currently. The 'free' improvisations develop material which has crystallised over the years. Nothing was discussed or decided prior to this recording session. There was no plan agreed upon in advance. Everything was entirely improvised. The paraphrases of jazz themes, like embedded particles, should not be taken as direct quotes. Rather, they are a reference to our history, creating contrasts and serving as a springboard. "[The Trio] has already achieved a lot, and in many cases you could say, that's enough. But not necessarily for us. It's like this: we've been playing together so long it doesn't really matter if we carry on or not… If we carry on it's also good, because people do actually need our music, and there's still lots to be said…" (Alexander von Schlippenbach).
