Rudolf Schock, whose 100th birthday is celebrated on 4th September 2015, was a renowned lyric tenor and lied singer. On this album with Gerald Moore (piano), he beautifully sings Franz Schubert's lied cycle "Die schone Mullerin" (The Fair Maid of the Mill). Schubert wrote this lied cyle in 1823 based on poems by Wilhelm Muller. Gerald Moore was an English classical pianist best known for his career as an accompanist for many famous musicians.
