It incorporates the first two letters of his first and last names in the melodic motif (B-E-B-A) in various guises. Although specifically written for tenor recorder and violin, the recorder part could also be played on flute or another C instrument that has a contrasting timbre to the violin. This is an unusual duet combination which I hope will be enjoyed as a recital/repertory piece or perhaps as prelude music before a wedding ceremony.
