The work was incorrectly known as the Trumpet Voluntary by Purcell for many years. The music is very popular as wedding music (performed at the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana) and was broadcast by the BBC extensively during WW II during the occupation of Denmark.
The work is 2 1/2 minutes in length. Parts are supplied for Bb & C trumpet. Easily within range of intermediate performers. A great choice for ceremonies, weddings, etc.
