The dark yet exciting textures lend themselves well to late autumn, and the prayerful qualities of the Prelude and the Toccata’s interlude also give honor to the celebrations of All Saints and All Souls. Due to its length and the style of the music itself … I have been complimented/flattered by comments that it is in the style of Max Reger although it was not my intention to emulate his style … I see this as a concert piece as opposed to a piece to be played within church services.
