The first movement is moving and emotional in a traditional yet powerful style. The second movement is in stark contrast to the first, with quick soaring melodies, unexpected meter changes, and interesting harmonies. Each movement can be played separately. The "Presto" movement would make an exciting opener or finale to any performance. The "Adagio" movement can be used nearly anywhere in a set.
This piece was the winner of the 2017 CSIC Music Composition Scholarship.
