This flamboyand and exuberant work is cast in three movements. The first combines traditional sonata form with a rhapsodic approach to structure. The second is a slow, song-like movement while the third is a fugue on an extended chromatic subject. The Piano Quintet appears on the Edinburgh Quartet album 'Frontiers and Bridges', with Alina Kolonitskaya as soloist (www.frontiersandbridges.com).
