  • February 07, 2012 Not My Favorite Edition

For readability I much prefer the International Music edition that includes the cadenzas by Beethoven, Brahms and Reinecke. The orchestra (Second Piano) part is full-sized on the Int'l and the notation is larger and sharper. I would of course give Mozart 5 Stars!!

  • October 01, 2007 Gorgeous classic with THE cadenzas

This masterpiece hardly needs introduction to classical fans. It is an incredible wealth of inspiration for a somewhat advanced student (and teacher needing a lift). The big plus of this edition is that it includes cadenzas by both Hummel and Beethoven. Not only are the Beethoven cadenzas the benchmark, but...

they also stimulate insights into the styles of these classical giants.

  • March 24, 2006 Genius!!!

This is now my favorite concerto! I was glad that there were two cadenzas to choose from for both the first and the last movement. What I would have liked better was that the orchestral score for piano II was written very small. But overall, I loved it!!!

  • October 18, 2002 romantic anticipation

The most depressing concerto of all, really full of sadness, from the most joyful composer.... This concerto enlighted more than one orchestral work on romanticism.(example: Chopin 2d concerto)
