Our Great Reward was composed at the behest of William Beck and it is for he and the Choir at St. Cyril's that this anthem was composed. The tonal palate of the music is in the Romantic tradition of the mid 20th century. It employs dynamics as an expressive tool for elucidation of textual phrases or key words. This Vesper hymn text is appropriately used during Evening Verspers as well as general usage throughout the year. Duration 4:10.
