Although most of the one to two-page pieces in this book were originally conceived as Gospel processionals, organists will find them useful in any number of other situations. They may be useful at the Communion or Offertory, to cover some movement of the clergy or choir in procession (traveling music), as a hymn introduction, or as a link in a concert or carol service. Many are suitable as preludes or processionals. Registrations are suggested, and the pieces are flexible enough to be extended or shortened as needed. Several of the arrangements appear in two keys to match those commonly found in hymnals.
