This light hearted tribute to the legendary tenor saxophone player Sonny Rollins is built on the changes of 'Doxy' but with a bridge and a few other little surprises. With great tutti scoring for all sections and a feature solo for tenor saxophone this piece would suit ensembles from school bands of a reasonable level to professional outfits. Very much out of the tradition it is a great training vehicle for young bands and tends to play itself. Easy to rehearse and great fun for both the band and the audience.
