Composed by Michael E. Ropp. A Cappella,Christian,Jazz,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Michael E. Ropp #2034305. Published by Michael E. Ropp (A0.971686).

O Brightest Star is an SATB a cappella setting of an original text asking God for guidance in this earthly life. The harmonization is very rich and warm, and slightly jazz-flavored. This piece would work well for quartet or choir, and would fit equally well into a concert or worship setting. The harmonies are tight and thus modestly difficult, and there is a heavy use of unisons and staggered breathing, so the piece is of moderate difficulty. This piece is also available in the key of G. (Note that the mp3 of this piece is particularly "square" and stiff; the intent is that it be sung in a very rubato style, at the discretion of the director.).
