Before his midweek service, the great London preacher G. Campbell Morgan always read the words to this hymn. The text, written by Mary Lathbury-the "poet of Chautauqua," was born out of Lathbury's reflection on the story of Christ's feeding the five thousand. This meditative and reflective setting contains an excellent prayer for understanding God's truth. The optional obbligato for C instrument is a lovely addition to the sweeping choral lines. This piece is stunningly beautiful!
